The project involved a 135 km (84 miles) new and greenfield 230 kV transmission line that delivers power from a substation belonging to British Columbia Hydro and Power Utility (BC Hydro) to Artemis Gold’s mine site substation. This project required the close collaboration of the construction contractor and designer/engineering firm to meet the expedited schedule specified by the client. WPE served as designer and engineer and supported the client from preliminary design to Issued For Construction package, material procurement, construction bid evaluation, commissioning & energization, and as-built record drawings.
